2018 CCID Redfern Ranches Scholarship for Ag Leadership

  1. For 2018, the Central California Irrigation District (CCID) along with Redfern Ranches is sponsoring a scholarship, which will be available to any student who meets the following criteria:
    1. Be a continuing college student, either undergraduate or graduate level, who has completed at least two years of coursework at the time of the award of the scholarship; and
    2. Be a relative of one of the following:
      • Landowner or consumer in CCID or in any of the other agencies of the Exchange Contractors (San Luis Canal Company, Firebaugh Canal Water District or Columbia Canal Company)
      • Employee of a landowner or consumer in CCID or in any of the other agencies of the Exchange Contractors
      • Employee or former employee of any of the above water agencies
  2. The scholarship will consist of at least $2,500.00. The money will be paid to the recipient after proof of registration at the beginning of the next semester or quarter.
  3. Applicants must submit an essay of a minimum of 300 words. The essay should include all of the following elements
    • The applicants background and achievements
    • Career goals
    • How this scholarship award will assist the applicant in attaining their goals
  4. The criteria for selection will be academic merit, outside activities, career goals, and financial need.
    1. Essay contents (70%)
    2. Scholastic records (15%)
    3. All activities and service (15%)
  5. A three-panel consisting of the two members of the CCID Water Awareness Scholarship Committee plus a representative from Redfern Ranches will make the final selection.
  6. The application package is to be returned to the CCID Main Office, located at 1335
    West “I” Street, Los Banos, or may be mailed to:

  7. Applications must be received by the District no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 1,
    2018, and must include:
  1. A completed application form
  2. An unofficial copy of the transcript of completed course work
  3. The essay, as described in paragraph C above
